Crashing The Inaugural
Fala disliked being separated from FDR. When the presidential entourage was preparing to leave for Roosevelt’s third inauguration, Fala hopped into the car beside his master. The president attempted to shoo him out of the car, but Fala just snuggled closer to him on the seat. Roosevelt laughed and said to one of the Secret Service guards, “Would you kindly check the credentials of this individual. If he does not have an invitation to be on the inaugural platform, please have him removed.” A guard gently lifted the black dog out of the car and carried him back inside. — Why We Love the Dogs We Do, by Stanley Coren

[This is sort of what my cat (the new one) is like - crazy about me, I mean it’s so weird.]
